This is a book comprised of three, interrelated short stories. The three separate authors succeeded in blending their stories into a cohesive whole. Parents getting thrown in jail, teens being shipped via train across the country, snow storms, cheerleaders, Waffle House, and Starbucks are all recurring themes throughout the book. You do not have to be a teenager to appreciate how well these authors describe the funny, awkward, and sometimes hilarious world of a teenager’s life.
There is some language (very mild), but no sex or violence. I have liked John Green for a while, and will now read Johnson and Myracles’ other books since I liked their style so much. Since your opportunity to read the book before Christmas has passed, I promise it will still be a fun read, especially with the frigid, snowy weather we are getting right now (check status at GPL)!
