Greenwood Public Library is celebrating "Dragons, Dreams, and Daring Deeds - Summer Reading 2010". On Saturday July 10 from 11am-3pm, the library grounds will be turned into a Medieval Village for all to enjoy. See live heavy armored combat (Knights with BIG weapons), rapier combat (sword fighting), Spinning, Textile crafts, livestock breeds from that era, and medieval folk dance.
This living history fair will be brought to GPL by re-enactors from the Society for Creative Anachronism, Barony of Sternfeld with live demonstrations and crafts from the Middle Ages including hands-on exhibits and authentic costuming. Touch, see, and taste what life was like in the Middle Ages! We will move the village indoors in case of bad weather. Thanks to our generous Title Sponsor, Community Hospital South - this program is FREE of charge!
Don't forget to sign up for Summer Reading - all ages are welcome! The program ends on July 31.You still have a few weeks to earn some great prizes and raffle tickets simply by logging the amount of hours you read. You can also earn raffle tickets by attending our events. Stop by the Adult Services desk to register or sign up online here.
