Get carded!


Did you know that September is Library Card Sign Up Month? In tough economic times, your library card gives you free access to books and computers, homework help, assistance with resumes and job searches, educational courses, CDs, DVDs, and much more. Click here for a list of 52 ways to use your library card - one for each week of the year!

You can visit the Patron Services desk to sign up for a library card. (The Patron Services desk is temporarily located in front of the Multimedia department  because of a renovation project which will help improves services for our patrons. Thank you for your patience during this project!)

To obtain a library card at Greenwood Public Library, you will need ONE of the following: 
  • Valid driver's license/state ID
  • Valid US government issued ID (military ID, passport, permanent resident card from DHS or IMS)
  • Valid current college or university student ID
If your current address does not appear on any of the above documents, you will need ONE of the following, with your current address, to establish residency in the library district: 
  • Valid voter registration card
  • Computer generated bank statement, utility bill, credit card bill, doctor bill, hospital bill, Medicare or Medicaid benefit statement that has been issued in the last 60 days
  • Property tax receipt/deed or apartment lease
  • Change of address confirmation from the US Post Office that shows both current and prior address
