Kendra's Comments: Wynter Morrison gave up much of her personality to become the woman her husband needed her to be- the ultimate housewife complete with fancy dinners, meticulous clothes, and high powered
acquaintances. Seven years later, he no longer wants any part of their marriage.
Wynter is devastated. As a teenager,
Wynter once took comfort and strength from the act of baking bread, and it takes her a while to find that magic again. Through the act of baking bread she finds out what she wants and needs from her life. Not only is
Wynter's love relationship explored in this novel, but also her relationships with friends, relatives and memories. This sweet romantic comedy is wonderful for anyone who ever finds comfort from food. I tried one of the recipes included in the story, and it came out great. I really enjoyed the bread making tips and tricks woven into the storyline. Excellent feel good story. I read the second book in this series,
The Baker's Apprentice, right after I finished this book. It was
OK, but not nearly as good as the first.
