Kendra's Comments: This delightful book in the Big Stone Gap series finds Ave Maria and Jack Mac a little older. Ave Maria is mostly content with the life she has lived in the past twenty years, but has to deal with Jack Mack's poor health, her young daughter's marriage and overseas move, and a spat with Iva Lou. The humorous way in which she deals with these issues makes you want to laugh out loud at times. Like
Trigiani's other books, delicious sounding recipes are sprinkled throughout the text. Someday - really I am going to try some of them (I say that
every time I read one of her books). This is a good book for those who can relate to a slightly off beat woman who prizes family loyalty and good food above all else.
