Kendra's Comments: With the Twilight movie coming out in November, I thought it would be good if I knew what all the fuss was about. Everyone has been talking about this book for what seems like forever. I ignored them. I am not a vampire fan, and don't read a lot of young adult fiction - BUT this particular book proved to be a wonderful little escape for my mind for a few days. Bella is an accident prone teenager who falls in love with Edward soon after she moves to the small town of Forks, Washington. Alas - there is a catch. Edward is a vampire. Bella has to figure out how to love and keep a vampire, stay alive, and also keep those around her safe. Quite a lot for a seventeen year old girl from Phoenix to handle. The story is addictive, funny and suspensful. I think I was most afraid of it being gorey (due to the vampire angle), but it wasn't. The language, plot, and romance are all very tame. It has made me move onto the follow up books and I have been reading them (not enjoying them quite as much as the original), and I now really want to see the movie on November 21. Four stars to Twilight. Check Status at GPL
