GPLcast Podcast

You must be wondering - the library has its own radio show? Ahh...it is true!

Honestly, it began as a project to teach teenagers how to create podcasts; which is a series of digital audio files that anyone can listen to on their computer or can subscribe to and download onto an mp3 player. This podcast project has grown into a way for patrons to get to know the staff in a fun way and be better informed about what's going on at the library and in the community.

This has been a lot of fun and the creators are still finding their way and fine tuning things as they go along. If you have a topic or a favorite staff person you would like to see featured - post a comment and let us know.

If you are curious about podcasting - whether you just want to know more about what a podcast is, how to create your own, or how to subscribe to podcasts on a wide rage of topics, just stop at the Adult Reference department upstairs at GPL or send an email. Emily and Kendra are creating the GPLcast that is featured on this blog (SEE GPLcast ON RIGHT SIDE OF SCREEN) and are happy to help get you going into the wide world of podcasts. This is just another fun way to absorb content! Libraries aren't just about books anymore...

btw:
Emily's favorite podcasts: Dirty Jobs, Ninja Warriors Podcast
Kendra's favorite podcasts: Splendid Table (NPR), KnitPicks, ReadySetKnit

If you decide to listen to this week's GPLcast - don't forget to post a comment to this blog post. You could win a free pretzel if you know the answer to this week's question.
