Storm Front: a novel of the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

Emily's Comments: Do you remember those old black and white detective films? The detective was always slightly aloof but cool and witty and inevitably there would be a damsel in distress. Think Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon. Storm Front’s Harry Dresden could be Humphrey Bogart, except that he’s a wizard trying to track down a sorcerer capable of killing individuals from a distance in very gruesome ways. This is urban fantasy at its best, set in modern times with a hint of magic but enough humor and realism to keep it grounded. If you’re a fan of detective books, I’d definitely recommend picking up the first of Butcher’s Dresden Files series. Storm Front is a 2008-2009 Eliot Rosewater Nominee. Check Status at GPL
