Casting Spells by Barbara Bretton

Amber's Comments: Chloe Hobbs is half witch and half human. She also owns a knit shop in a picturesque Vermont town. While her shop is thriving and she is surrounded by friends, Chloe still feels there's something missing in her life.

But Chloe lives in Sugar Maple, a town that is not what it seems. Inhabited by witches, vampires and fairies, Chloe is the only non-"magick" person there. She struggles with being the odd one out and also with her loneliness.

But when mysterious human deaths start to occur, a human police officer, Luke, comes into town. The whole town has something to hide, but Chloe is having trouble keeping quiet as sparks fly with Luke. To make it more difficult, strange things start happening around Chloe that she can't seem to control.

It's a fast read, and an unusual blend of a romance, knitting cozy and mystery. A fast read, a little silly in parts, but overall a feel-good story (check status at GPL).
