Kendra's Comments: This mystery is a page turner. The Bookman's Promise is book 3 of the Cliff Janeway series - but reading the earlier books is not necessary in this case. The ex-policeman turned book collector finds out that mysterious murders surround the history of a book that he recently acquired. As he researches the past to find out the truth concerning the book, he finds love and friendships along the way. This story is filled with suspense. Some, but not a lot of violence. Also has crossover to the historical fiction genre, as we find out a little about the history of book collecting and the author Richard Burton. If intrigue, suspense, mystery, romance, historical detail, and flawed but intriguing characters appeal to you, I would suggest this book. Check Status
