Run by Anne Patchett

Kendra's Comments: I heard Anne Patchett speak on a radio show a few years ago, and thought "what a neat person." I loved Bel Canto, and I really enjoyed Run as well. These are just really good stories.
Run deals with complex family issues (race relationships, belonging, faith, and destiny). What really separates it as great is how the reader is drawn into the story. You feel like you really relate to these intimate thoughts and feelings that arise in the plot.
I still have a few more Patchett books to cross off my list, and I look forward to them. I think I'll take a bit of a break, however. To get emotionally attached to a story is a wonderful, but exhausting adventure. Maybe I'll read a few cookbooks first to clear my mind!
